Ben Franklin who once observed: There will be plenty of time to sleep once you are dead., this is not to scare us but to reawake the relentless feature in our leadership journey. Remember, Leadership isnt just for CEOs, Political Office Holders, Army Generals, and Clergy. Leadership is for EVERYONE. And with all the cataclysmic change in our society right now, leadership has become the single most important master skill for success in business and politics. Leadership isnt only something to do at work. We need to practice leadership within every arena we play. To arrive at our greatest lives, its ever so important to mode...

Redirecting Your Leadership Focus

Image
I quite understand that people generally underestimate the weakness of human nature regardless of whatever position they hold. _Every human has one weakness or the other_ and it's easy to criticize people in leadership without looking at inwards. It is easy to point out the problem when you are not pointing to yourself! However, the goal of leadership is improvement and this must be the mindset of all leaders regardless of vocation or occupation. No movement, no leadership! _If I can't take you from Point A to Point B, then I'm not leading you_ . If I can't bring any improvement to your thinking, your approach, skills, business and life, I'm not leading you. As far as I'm concerned, Leadership is service and nothing more. _That I'm a leader doesn't mean I must be the smartest, richest, biggest or my ideas must be the best all the time._  I'm of the opinion that, the essence of leadership is to be a broker of talents among my team members....

ARE YOU A LEADER?

Image
A leader is a servant to all. If you don't have a heart to serve others without looking for reward, you are not a leader If you stop doing good because nobody recognizes your kind gesture, you are not a leader If you see your followers making mistakes, but you keep quiet saying, "If they don't call me for advice, I will allow them learn by experience." Your attitude depicts that you are not a leader Do you have the Pull them Down syndrome? When you see someone doing better than you, what do you do, encourage or pull them down? _A genuine leader should not desire the downfall of his followers who are better than him_ _If you close doors for your subordinates because you are afraid they will be far better than you, you are not a leader_ If you don't produce your kind. You are the only champion doing great and mighty things, you are not a leader.  Never forget that every good leader must have a better successor. As a leader, you must feed on knowledge. Do...

BECOMING A BARRIER BREAKER

Image
The story of Roger Bannister is an inspiring example of a barrier breaking personality. During the first half of the twentieth century, many sports experts believed that no runner could run a mile in less than four minutes. And for a long time they were right.  But then on May 6, 1954, British runner and university student Roger Bannister ran a mile in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds during a competition in Oxford. Less than two months later, another runner, Australian John Landy, also broke the four-minute barrier.  Then suddenly dozens and then hundreds of others broke it. Why? Because Roger Bannister was determined to change the order of thing by breaking a long-standing barrier of self-limitation, and they all began to adopt the mind-set and belief of those who had broken the barrier.  Bannister’s attitude and actions compounded when exposed to others. His attitude spread. Today, every world-class runner who competes at that distance can run a mile in less than fou...

MY ROTARACT STORY

Image
It all started about some reasonable years ago! My elder brother happened to be a bonafide member of Rotaract Club at the Prestigious Owo Polytechnic in Ondo State. His style, way of life and sudden transformation in approaches to life issues caught my attention and made me deep further to what he has actually engaged himself in that caused this kind of positive shift and it was through my findings I got to know about Rotaract Club. The Purpose and Goals of Rotaract then attracted me so well that even when I was yet to gain admission into a tertiary institution, I was already a Rotaractor at heart. In the year 2013, I gained admission to the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti (Fresher as fondly called) but with the mind-set and mentality I've developed overtime, I vowed not to settle for less and mandate myself to pursue greatness even outside the confine of Academics which happened to be my primary aim of coming to Ado-Ekiti. Was introduced to Rotaract Club meeting on camp...

Unveiling

Image
About some months ago in the land of The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti. It was a moment of truth and revelation as the students of the great citadel of learning were exposed to diverse knowledge and they were made to come to the knowledge of some secrets to relevance both earthly and beyond. A bit of the English definition of ‘WORLD’ is a distinctive class of persons or their sphere of interest or activity. We believe the school to be a sphere that its activities, operation and focus is distinct and its influence and importance cannot be over emphasize in the generality of the world’s activity at large. This is a kind of setting that has the highest stake in either making or marring the future of the younger generations. OutWorld Summit was birth through the passion of a young Nigerian Student who is concerned and passionate about seeing the younger generation equipped and well prepared for the ‘After school realities’. The first edition was held in The Federal  Po...

DILIGENCE

Image
A quote states thus "The gent who wakes up and finds himself a SUCCESS hasn't been asleep." DILIGENCE is a principle, thus it entails that it can be applied ANYWHERE in the world by ANYBODY. It is not limited to a certain race, culture e.t.c. It simply means hardwork. Success is not attained by chance; it must be sought with diligence. The proof of DESIRE is PURSUIT and DILIGENCE is an ALL-IMPORTANT factor for pursuing In the words of Benjamin Franklin, he said and I quote "Diligence is the mother of goodluck" Every man that has ever achieved anything of worth or greatness will always make reference to DILIGENCE. DILIGENCE makes on ALL IN for a thing and you will obtain ALL IN that pursuit when you are all in. In life, people can have the same CONDITION but different PRODUCTS. The difference maker is DILIGENCE Eg: Two young undergraduates gains admission same year and by the end of final year, one graduates with a First Class and...

ENGAGE NOW OR WAIT FOREVER

Image
I want to draw your attention to a very cogent and paramount issue of growth and relevance in life which I am positive will be of help to you. There is a saying that “Your growth, success and relevance in life is directly proportional to; what you see, what you hear and the people follow”. In the issue of success and relevance, there is a major player that cannot be in anyway be neglected which I’ll like us to look into in this short write up. The role of a mentor cannot be overemphasised in the journey of a man towards success and relevance, where by this has made it very necessary for each and everyone who aspires to be great to have a mentor who will in subsequent times check and balance his ways and dealings. There is a pressing issue in this same course which is how so many mentees react and relate with their mentors. I’ve been opportune to mentor some set of young guys and ladies as well as submitted under the mentorship of some great men and women as well. I...
